The Mo-Pac, is it was known by locals, was the main line from east to west for the southern U.S.. Many trains with over one hundred cars passed through Mineola, Texas hour after hour. The Amtrak ran in the morning and I tried as a kid year after year to get a shot of it, it eluded me! We only made it to Texas about once a year and getting these shots was all I could think of as we took the twelve hour trip via one ton, as smooth as a Tonka Dodge van.
